Here are my top five steps for Spring Selling. First, create a budget. Budget you say? Isn’t that just for buyers? The truth is many homeowners are surprised at costs for selling that need to be taken into account. Many closing costs are absorbed by buyers in today’s market but it is best to be prepared for other expenses that may be incurred. Second, Spring cleaning! Declutter, depersonalize and clean your home. Many sellers make the mistake of listing a home that has not been properly decluttered. This saves so much time when a home goes on the market, because buyers will need to see a home that they can imagine themselves living in, so family photos and trinkets will need to be stored. This is also a good step towards a move. Third, Curb appeal update. You do not have to spend a large amount of money to increase your curb appeal. Often this can entail a fresh coat of paint, changing out light bulbs, and replacing fixtures that are broken. Fourth, Freshen up your first impression. Winter’s on The Main Line can wreak havoc on landscaping, but I have resources that can help you make your home give the best first impression.
