Let me tell you why I love selling in September. I am a listing agent on The Main Line PA and I just love selling in September. September 2022 is an even better time to list because it is a sellers market. My sellers have been getting great value for their homes all summer and now that school is back in session and the temperatures are dropping as we ease into fall, it is a great time to list your home. First, it is not as hot out. This makes home showings more enjoyable for everyone. Second, kids are in school, so there is no need to orchestrate ways to occupy children during showings. Third, there are mini spikes in buying, and early fall is one of them. Unlike common spikes in the late spring, the early fall is a great time because buyers would like to get into a new home prior to the holidays. I see lots of Main Line buyers choose early fall for buying, and sellers should definitely pay attention. Fourth, give your yard and home a once over to make sure everything is tidy and neat. Buyers are willing to do work on homes, but they are likely to prefer homes that appear well maintained. Fifth, partner with the best realtor in your area. This is a market that has hundreds of realtors, at varying levels of expertise. While a very experienced realtor with a great reputation who has been around forever is good, sometimes that is not compatible with your style and how you prefer to market your home.
